future

Future generations

Nature will always need guardians. CPAWS works to make sure that protected wilderness – on land and sea – remains safeguarded for future generations. The natural environment, whether on land or in our coastal waters, is an important influence on human health.

Forever means forever

Parks need to last forever. British Columbia has about 1000 provincial parks and protected areas. We also have and 8 national parks. CPAWS must make sure that protected wilderness – on land and sea – remains safeguarded for future generations.

Defenders of the Wild

The movement to protect and conserve wilderness must continue forever. Parks will always need guardians. The unprotected wilds of British Columbia will always need defenders. CPAWS must always instill passions for wilderness protection in new generations so that they may carry on the work.

Climate change
Climate change
How do you protect wilderness through climate change? In a sense, you can’t. B.C. is poised to lose species – it’s not the strongest that survive; it’s the ones that can adapt to change. Not all B.C. species can adapt to warming temperatures. That’s the bad news.

The Big Wild
CPAWS has teamed up with Mountain Equipment Co-op, Canada's largest retail cooperative dedicated to supporting people in achieving the benefits of self-propelled wilderness and outdoor recreation, to create The Big Wild - a movement for everyone who cares about Canada's wild places.
